Deux ans de solitude / Two years of solitude

Red with emotion
of old captured dreams,
we can take the time.

The vocabulary of exile used by Marquez in One Hundred Years of Solitude seems as familiar as it is unfamiliar to Mark Daovannary. It resonates with the memories of his ancestors, like clues to an elusive history that he did not live through. In Two Years of Solitude, the artist proposes an allegory of time that stops. Linked together by a thread, the two clocks embody the loss of reference points. They are no longer measuring tools, but the interlocutors of a dialogue between the past and the present.
