Le poids d’un mot

Identity,
Inscribed in stone,
To be left behind.

The dojang, or Korean seal, is of particular importance, both for the object itself and for the symbolism it conveys. Usually engraved with the family coat of arms or the owner's surname, it is offered at key periods in life and is used to sign official documents. Here, the dojang is stamped with a word that is as discreet as it is significant for the artist. The seemingly light stele carries the allegorical weight of this seal.
